On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, a high-level business conference was held at the Federation of Egyptian Chambers in New Cairo, bringing together senior government officials and business leaders from Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece. The event aimed to enhance bilateral and trilateral cooperation and promote investment opportunities across the three countries.
The conference featured welcome remarks from Mr. Ahmed El Wakil, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers, Mr. Stavros Stavrou, President of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mrs. Sophia Kounenaki Efraimoglou, 1st Vice President of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Key discussions focused on bilateral and trilateral cooperation, sources of finance, and opportunities in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and investment. Among the distinguished speakers were H.E. Dr. Rania Al Mashat, Egypt’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation; H.E. Mr. George Papanastasiou, Cyprus’ Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry; and H.E. Mr. Kostas Fragogiannis, Greece’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Diplomacy.
A dedicated session highlighted business opportunities across Egypt, Cyprus and Greece, with contributions from the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), Invest Cyprus, and Enterprise Greece.
The forum concluded with a limited high-level Energy and Infrastructure Roundtable, reinforcing the three nations’ commitment to deepening economic and investment partnerships.
